This is us – WE ARE ARKIVET
Hello! We are KalleJuan, Magnus, Christoffer and Dan. We are Arkivet. We, like most of you, surf the internet on a daily basis. The Internets is like Alice´s wonderland, and we wanna take you on a trip down that deep rabbit hole. Here at Arkivet we post our favorite links of the days. When I was a kid John Howe always made great impression on me. His drawings and paintings inspired by the worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien showed me the way to books like The Hobbit, Lord of the rings and Silmarillion and from there to all kinds of litterature. In someway I owe John Howe my interest for books and litterature, so thank you John! Our friend Google have some pictures. /Magnus

Raymond Loewy is one hell of a designer and sometimes called the father of industrial design. He did the logos of Exxon, Shell, Hoover, BP, Nabisco, Canada Dry, U.S. Mail and the packaging for Luck Strike Cigarettes. The industrial part of his career includes the Coca Cola bottle, Studebaker cars, Greyhound Buses, refrigerators, trains, airplanes, buildings etc - a genius for a fact. Blip this...

This is FRIDAY SUPER FUN and it goes out to my crew @Arkivet and all of you internauts out there! By the way, be sure to check out Grooveshark if you haven´t already. It´s really neat. You can listen to almost any song you want, and it´s for free. This is actually to good to be true, so take a look before the copyright mafia will close it. /Kalle

No Google Day – 1 st. of September
”Back in the old days, yes, back in the nineties, we had Webcrawler, Lycos, and Altavista. These engines were slow, boring and not very good at finding things. Then Google appeared out of nowhere, and changed Internet history forever. The No-Google-Day is not a protest against Google. We like Google and use it every day! Rather, the 1st of September is a celebration of internets for the...

Fallande löv - Stig Lindberg på Coop
Just look at these cups! Lovely, right? Swedish KF Group’s grocery retail group is turning 110 y/o and the cups are part of a series of commemorative products. The design is inspired by Stig Lindberg and his classic pattern ”Fallande löv” (In english: ”Falling leaves”, that´s so emo!). Me and my girlfriend Malin managed to a hold of a bunch of these darlings today. <3 /Kalle

”Berlusconi likes big tits and to own everything”
Swedish/italian filmmaker Erik Gandini, the guy who gave us Gitmo, is at this moment at war with Silvio Berlusconi and his party Forza Italia. The reason: a documentary called Videocracy. I haven´t seen the documentary my self yet, but I guess the reason that Berlusconi´s pissed off is because the film shows what he really is: incompetente and with absolute power. ”Through television media,...
